Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O/MgO thin films were prepared by deposition from an aerosol using aqueous nitrate solutions. To prepare the samples, experimental designs were applied to investigate the influence of different variables upon synthesis of required 2223 phase. Within these designs namely that of influence of substrates used, chemical composition of nitrate solutions, and thermal treatment upon formation of superconducting phases were studied. X-ray diffraction revealed a presence of various phases in the prepared films related to the particular preparation conditions. The Tc values of the samples were used as quantitative result to optimize the content of the 223 phase. Results show correlation between the film preparation, precursor film chemical composition and the formation of superconducting phases.
